A new study shows that life is meaningless and every emotion you’ve ever felt was just a chemical reaction. All religions were created so that humans could cope with the fact that life is short and meaningless, none of us are special, we’re all going to die, and nothing comes after death.
Out of all the creatures that roam this floating rock suspended in the void and kept alive by a giant ball of fire that just happens to be the right distance away not to fry or freeze us, we alone possess the ability to conceptualize our own mortality and insignificance in the universe.
While our intelligence is far superior to our fellow creatures, we fuck shit up constantly. We start wars and fuck up the environment because we suck. We are literally monkeys with a big brain and cannot handle it. Actual monkeys have fucked up far less stuff than humanity.
Back to the topic at hand though, were all going to die. Your parents, your friends, your enemies, your children, every person you’ve ever been in love with, your pets, that spider living under your bed, everyone. No one escapes death.
Here’s a handy chart to help you out if you’re still confused:
Everything dies. Even memories. At some point in history, after you’re dead, someday you’ll be completely forgotten. Some people are remembered for much longer than others, but rest assured, they too will someday be forgotten. Someday in the very distant future, the earth will be swallowed up by the sun and every monument ever built by mankind will be destroyed.
So what’s the point? I don’t know, I’m just a clickbait writer wasting precious time writing garbage on the internet.
